ONLINE-Introduction to Modern Pointed Pen Calligraphy 5 Week Course
Wednesdays September 8 - October 6, 2021
Have you always wanted to learn the art of calligraphy but not sure where to start? Our 5 week-online-Introduction to Modern Pointed Pen Calligraphy is the course for you!
Over the duration of 5 weeks, we will walk you through the basics including proper pen grip, posture, paper slant and how to use a dip pen and ink to produce thin wispy hairlines and dramatic thick swells…the hallmark to beautiful pointed pen calligraphy! You will learn the principal strokes used to create letter forms as well as a complete lowercase and uppercase alphabet, plus all the little secrets of the trade! Each week we will put what you have learned to use with weekly projects such as notebooks, calendars and more!
This online course consists of both weekly group lessons and individual time.
Each Sunday morning, we will meet via Zoom for a 45-60 minute or so GROUP lesson, where I will walk you through the week’s lesson. Then I will meet with you individually, if you need extra help, up to 3 times via Zoom for 10-15 minutes to answer any questions you may have and to offer you individual advice or help.

What people are saying about our classes:
"I have done many in-person one day Workshops with Jenn at Quills but because I live out of town, attending the longer five week in-person Calligraphy course was out of the question ... until it went online! Having attended both in person and online classes I can honestly say that the transition from in person to online was seamless! Jenn is able to answer questions and make corrections just like you are in class! Jenn's overhead camera means that you are able to see her form every stroke and letter and meeting with her one on one each week on Zoom meant that you were able to get specific feedback on the practice sheets you submitted. I really cannot recommend this course enough for anyone interested in learning Modern Calligraphy! The progression in my lettering from the first week to the last was noticeable. Jenn's tips and tricks made such a difference in how I form my letters. Jenn's enthusiasm for modern Calligraphy and her desire for everyone to succeed comes through in every class. Thanks so much for everything - I'll definitely be back for more classes in the future!" Jen J
